Hobbies

My hobbies, wow...where do I begin?! All of my hobbies pretty much revolve around rest, relaxation, and fun.

Zumba Fitness® is the only Latin-inspired dance-fitness program that blends red-hot international music, created by Grammy Award-winning producers, and contagious steps to form a "fitness-party" that is downright addictive.
Since its inception in 2001, Zumba Fitness has grown to become the world’s largest – and most successful – dance-fitness program with more than 10 million people of all shapes, sizes and ages taking weekly Zumba classes in over 90,000 locations across more than 110 countries.

If you can carve out time to spend in the kitchen, preparing meals that you enjoy, you may indeed find it becomes a type of hobby. Cooking can be a form of relaxation because you can get rid of anxieties by focusing on chopping vegetables, or kneading bread, or icing cookies. Cooking can provide any number of ways to get lost in thought, to meditate or transport your thoughts back to special memories from your past. Maybe you look forward to cooking a meal that was your family's favorite or you are cooking a meal that contains your comfort foods. Your kitchen can be a place to gather with family and friends. Taking time to cook in the kitchen can be something to look forward to. Even with only a little time, put on some music, light a scented candle and enjoy this fun part of the day. After a busy day, you've earn this time for relaxation.

For all you ladies, who feel guilty over buying a pair if shoes or a crockery set ( which won’t find a use at least for a year! ) there is a good news. Recent surveys revealed that going on a shopping spree might be good for your mental health. In fact, it has antidepressant like efficacy which makes mundane life interesting. All over the World, studies show that women are emotionally more stressed out than men. They play multiple roles throughout their lives like cooking, cleaning, raising kids and also managing finances as well as jobs, all at the same  time.

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue.  It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders.  Some of the same strokes are used as classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.

For thousands of years people have been captivated by horoscopes, astrology, star signs, birth signs, and we have long looked to the stars for answers to our questions. However, for every person that truly believes in the power of astrology, there are five other people who doubt and criticize astrology, and its scientific backing.

I personally believe that the stars can reveal something about our personalities and the future, as my horoscope is usually shockingly accurate. However, the lack or reputable results or scientific backing to its method makes astrology a highly criticized process, giving it a reputation as a space filler in magazines that you read in line at the supermarket.

There have been certain events that I have experienced throughout my life that make me believe that astrology is not just a supernatural hoax. I read my horoscope online everyday, and more often than not, my horoscope is accurate to some level.

It's true! Our furry little friends are actually an excellent source of stress relief. Pets stress relief can:
o Improve Your Mood: They tug on your leg, jump on your lap, and lick your fingers....how can you stay mad after that?

o Reduced Stress: The calmness that they bring helps to reverse the effects of stress. Causing the symptoms of stress to be decreased or eliminated.

o Improved Physical Health: The physical activity you get from walking or playing with them can help to improve your health.

o Reduce The Feeling of Loneliness: They love to be around you, and show it. The noise that fills your home when they are around can reduce the lonely feeling silence can bring.

o Make Socializing Easier: You weren't meant to be alone. They make it easier to meet people while walking them in your neighborhood or the park.

Finding stress relief at home is as easy as creating it. By decorating your room in a way that encourages relaxation, you can also decrease stress. Since everyone's different, there's no "one style fits all", but here are some suggestions to get you started:

o  Use warm neutral colored wall paint in the room...earth tones are my favorite.

o  Keep the lights low. Use warm lighting to help with relaxation. (I find the oriental paper lamps work great)

o  Use accessories like a small relaxing fountain or a soothing sound machine to help create the mood.

o  Use soft pillows and sheets if for your bedroom.

o  Using a soothing aromatherapy scent will also aid your senses in reaching that relaxed state.

o  Try adding live plants that have a tropical look and feel to them.
